Numbers & Alphabet cutters
There are 69 products.
With letter and number cookie cutters you write names, dates and little messages straight onto cookies, fondant and cakes. Whether for embossing or cutting out: we have lots of letters and numbers in different sizes and styles – from single stainless steel letters to an embossing set with 52 pieces.
For the whole alphabet there are sets in several versions: the 26-piece alphabet cutter set, small alphabets at 2 cm and 3.6 cm, the small Funky alphabet and the Funky and Chunky Funky alphabet and number sets. Single letters – from A via M to Z – are mostly stainless steel, many of them 6.5 cm tall. For numbers, the choice ranges from single number cutters and a 9-piece number set to a 3.5 cm number cutter set; the numbers 6 and 9 even share one stainless steel cutter.
Embossing, stamping, cutting
Not every word has to be cut out. With the 52-piece letter embossing set, the text embossing set, the numbers and symbols embossing set or the letters and numbers embossing cutter set, you press words directly into cookie dough or fondant. The message set and the customisable stamp turn every cookie into a personal greeting card. Ready-made lettering such as Happy Birthday is also available as a cutter, one version with a plunger and Ø 7 cm.
Tips for lettering on cookies
- Roll the dough evenly: embossing needs a flat surface. Roll the dough between two sheets of baking paper so every letter is pressed in to the same depth.
- Dust the stamps lightly: dip embossing letters briefly in flour or cornflour; the dough releases cleanly and the edges stay sharp.
- Test words first: press assembled words into a scrap of dough first. You see at once whether the order and spacing are right.
- Bake chilled: cold dough spreads less in the oven, so even small 2 cm letters stay legible.
Number cake rings for number cakes
Besides cutters you will also find number-shaped cake rings here, for example for the numbers 0, 2, 5, 8 or 9, plus baking rings for the numbers 1 and 7 for sponge and cakes. You bake the sponge directly in the shape of a number and build a number cake for a birthday or anniversary. For fans of wizardry there is also the Harry Potter HP logo cutter in gold-coloured stainless steel.
What to look for when buying
For single initials or a big birthday age, individual stainless steel letters and numbers are handy: they are robust and easy to add to. If you want to write whole names or sentences, an alphabet set or embossing set is the better choice. Pay attention to size too: small 2 cm alphabets suit cupcakes and fondant lettering, 6.5 cm letters suit cookies that are the message themselves.
FAQ about letter and number cutters
How do I write a name on a cake?
Roll fondant out thinly, cut the letters with a small alphabet set and let them dry briefly. Then fix them to the cake with a little water or edible glue.
Which set is best for whole sentences?
For longer messages, the 52-piece letter embossing set, the text embossing set or the message set are ideal because you press the words straight into the dough.
Are there shapes for a number cake?
Yes, with the number cake rings and the baking rings for the numbers 1 and 7 you bake sponge layers directly in number shape.
