Roll out the lightly floured dough to a thickness of about 0.5 cm, cut out and bake the biscuits at 200 °C until golden brown. Cold butter gives dough stability; if the dough becomes too soft, place it briefly in the fridge. Once cooled, the letters can be decorated with royal icing, icing or chocolate; fondant and marzipan decorations for cakes, cupcakes and muffins are also possible.
