Apples, pears and pumpkin
Autumn is the season for fruit-based classics. Try a caramelised Tarte Tatin, a Vanilla-Apple Tart or crisp Apple Waffles for a cosy afternoon. Pears pair beautifully with chocolate in our Pear-chocolate entremet, and with Swiss vin cuit in the Büscheli Pear Entremet with Vin Cuit or the Pear Vin Cuit Cake. The traditional Cooked wine tart is one of the most popular recipes on our blog. Pumpkin also has a sweet side: bake fluffy Pumpkin Cupcakes or a Squash Rolled Brioche that looks as good as it tastes.
Nuts, spices and cosy treats
Hazelnuts and warm spices are the signature flavours of the season. Our Hazelnut Snails, Cinnamon Rolls and Fig-Hazelnut Bread are perfect for breakfast or a weekend brunch. For a sweet snack on the go, prepare Apple-choco cereal bars or Hazelnut cookies. Chocolate lovers will enjoy the Mini Bundt Cakes with Chocolate and Hazelnuts, the Dulcey Chocolate Tart or the Choco-speculoos tartlets.
- Make your own Praline and use it in Praline Macarons
- Roast Caramelized Almonds for a fragrant gift
- Bake Anise cookies, a Swiss favourite with a long tradition
- Serve a savoury Mushroom Tart, or bake Le Far Breton, a classic from Brittany
Tip: autumn fruit varies in sweetness and juiciness, so taste your apples and pears before baking and adjust the sugar slightly if needed. Firm varieties hold their shape best in tarts.
