Decorated cookies for every celebration
Decorated biscuits are a lovely way to personalise a table or a gift. Start with a simple dough of flour, butter, sugar, a pinch of salt and egg, roll it out evenly and cut shapes with cookie cutters. Once baked and cooled, cover them with our Royal icing, which you can colour as you like. Our guide to Decorated Cookies with Royal Icing shows you how, and the Thank you teacher cookies make a charming end-of-term present. For Easter and spring, our Spring cookies bring cheerful colours to the table.
Classics, Swiss traditions and fun ideas
Many of our most-read recipes are timeless classics you can now bake at home: a buttery Sablé breton, Petit Beurre Cookies, Homemade LU Barquettes, Homemade Pim's or chocolate-dipped Viennese Sablés. Swiss traditions are well represented too:
- Gruyère Anise Biscuits and Anise cookies
- Crisp Bricelets made in a waffle iron
- Basler Läckerli and Ginger Donuts (Lebkuchen)
- Jam Finger Biscuits and Filled Cookies
For something more playful, try Mikado sticks, Confetti and White Chocolate Cookies, Peanut Cookies, Hazelnut cookies or Caramel-chocolate cookies. In autumn, our Halloween Cookies: Spitzbuben with a Pumpkin Face are always a hit with children.
Tip: chill your dough for at least an hour before rolling it out. The cookies will keep their shape better and the edges stay sharp during baking.
