Christmas Donuts
Hey foodies!
This week, we're sharing a recipe that was created especially for "Mademoiselle Karine"'s Advent calendar.
If you don't know her yet, now's the time to check her out on Instagram or Youtube. :o)
So let me introduce our mini Christmas donuts.

To make 30 mini donuts, you will need:
Gingerbread sponge
- 55gr of butter
- 75gr of brown sugar
- 2.5gr of baking powder
- 0.5gr of baking soda
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 1 egg
- 80gr of milk
- 130gr of flour
- 30gr of cream
- 30gr of almond powder
- 3 tsp of gingerbread spices
Decoration
- 1 jar of white pastry fondant
- Christmas decorations
- Gel food colouring
- 1 mini donut mould
Gingerbread sponge
In a bowl, pour 55gr of butter and 75gr of brown sugar.
Mix the 2 ingredients with a whisk for 1-2 minutes.
Then add 2.5gr of baking powder and 0.5gr of baking soda. Use a precision spoon scale to weigh accurately.
Then also add 1/4 tsp of salt, 1 egg and 80gr of milk.
Mix with the whisk at high speed for 2 minutes.
Once the batter is mixed, add 130gr of flour, 30gr of full-fat cream and 30gr of almond powder.
Finally, add 3 tsp of gingerbread spices.
Whisk everything one last time for 30 seconds at full power.
Preheat your oven to 200°C, fan-assisted.
Grab a jug, place a 40cm piping bag inside and pour your batter into it.
Place your mini donut mould on a perforated baking tray.
Then spray it with release spray so your donuts don't stick when unmoulding.
Finally, pipe your donut batter into each cavity. The batter will fill 30 cavities, so 2 moulds.
But given the quick baking time (10 minutes), 1 donut mould will be enough. ;o)
Once your cavities are filled, place your mould in the oven preheated to 200°C, fan-assisted for 10 minutes.
When your donuts are baked, remove your mould from the oven and let the donuts cool for 5 minutes in the mould.
Then unmould your mini donuts by turning the mould upside down onto a cooling rack.
Now let's decorate!
Grab a jar of pastry fondant.
Pour 1/3 of the jar into a glass bowl and heat the mixture in the microwave at 500W for 10 seconds. A bain-marie works too if you don't have a microwave.
Dip your mini donut into the glaze up to halfway.
Then lift your mini donut out and tidy up the glaze if needed.
To prevent the glaze from setting too quickly, place your bowl of pastry fondant in a bowl of hot water.
Colour your glaze with gel food colouring depending on the decorations you want to make.
Here I used green gel colouring and little sugar holly decorations. :o)
Colour your glaze with gel food colouring depending on the decorations you want to make.
Here I used "red" gel colouring and little sugar Christmas decorations.

And here, I made little snowmen with mini eyes, sugar carrots and black pearls.
I used precision tweezers to place my pearls evenly. :o)
The last ones were decorated with Christmas sprinkles and frosted glitter.
And there you have it, my mini Christmas donuts!
Very easy to make and perfect for an Advent calendar activity with your kids.
Have a lovely Sunday, foodies!
Karin

Il n'y a pas d'astuce pour conserver le fondant. Vous pouvez sans souci le stocker dans votre armoire.
Belle journée :-)
Question de Olivia
By: Olivia H. On 2022-11-25Bonjour,

Question de Anita
By: Anita P. On 2021-12-10Bonjour, ils sont magnifiques! Est-ce que ces mini donuts peuvent être préparés à l’avance et congelés? (Sans le glaçage bien sûr). Merci d’avance et belles fêtes!
