Which spices or flavors should I choose to flavor my preparations?
There are several types of flavors. In our category, you will find them in liquid form, paste, powder, or even in their original form such as vanilla beans or tonka beans.
Powder Flavor
Powder flavor is natural and has a strong aromatic power. You will need very little to add taste to your preparation. This flavor is generally used in mousses, cookies, or homemade ice cream. The advantage of powder flavor is that it will not color your mixture.
To make good vanilla cookies, we used it in our recipe for confetti and white chocolate cookies (fr) (all recipes only available in French or German).
In powder form, we also have the essential Christmas ingredient, the gingerbread mix. It will be perfect for making biscômes, Christmas cookies, or to add a touch of whimsy to your macaron shells, as we did for our foie gras macarons. We also used it in our recipe for chocolate, orange, and spice log (fr) to flavor our mousse and biscuit.
Liquid Flavor
Used to enhance buttercream, whipped cream, sponge cake, liquid flavor is very concentrated and does not color your preparation. This flavor also gives taste to cooked preparations. That's why we use it in our cake recipes such as our orange cake (fr) or our mini prune-cinnamon crumble cakes (fr).
Our favorite is orange blossom flavor. We often add a gourmet touch to our orange-based preparations by adding a few drops of this flavor. You will find it in our recipe for revisited crème brûlée (fr).
Paste Flavor
Our bestseller, it's our favorite flavor! You will often find a touch of vanilla in our recipes, and it comes from this flavor. Thanks to its creamy texture, it can be mixed into various preparations. Whether to flavor ganaches, biscuits, sponge cakes, cupcakes, or creams such as diplomat, butter, or custard, you will have a choice of around twenty flavors. For most of our flavors, they are made with fruit pulp so the flavor will slightly color your preparation unlike the two other flavors mentioned above.
Tips for Spices and Flavors for Number Cake
You can also flavor your preparation with pure spices like vanilla beans. This spice, to give a good taste to your preparations, needs to be infused then slit to release the vanilla seeds. Once used, the vanilla bean can be dried, ground, and reused in your recipes in powder form. To help you with this tip, watch our video "don't throw away your vanilla beans".
