Tips for preserving with WECK jars
- Work cleanly: rinse jars, glass lids and rings in hot water and fill to just below the rim so the edge stays free of food.
- Use the funnel: the filling funnel gets jam, compote and syrup into the jar without smearing the rim.
- Fit the clamps correctly: place the ring and glass lid on top and secure the lid with two clamps on opposite sides. Remove the clamps once the jar has cooled.
- Lift out safely: the jar lifter lets you take hot jars out of the pot safely after preserving.
Frequently asked questions
Which rubber ring fits my WECK jar?
The diameter of the jar opening is what counts. Check the size on the jar or measure the rim and choose the matching ring in Ø 60, 80 or 100 mm.
How can I tell that the jar is sealed?
After cooling and removing the clamps, the glass lid sits firmly in place. If the tab of the ring points downwards and the lid cannot be lifted off, the jar is sealed.
What are the storage lids for?
They close opened jars in the fridge or jars with desserts, salads and supplies that are not preserved. For preserving, use the glass lid, ring and clamps.
