To make 6 butterflies you will need:
- 2 apples
- 1 packet of pink Déco Melts
- Pastel pink chocolate flavour pen
- Mikado
Let's get started with the recipe!
Start by cutting 2 apples into slices about 1 cm thick. In total you will need 6 slices.
Cut the slices in half, then remove the centre using a 3.5 cm round cookie cutter.
Melt the pink Déco Melts in the microwave for 1 minute at 600Watt and mix well. If all the discs are not completely melted, heat again for a few seconds.
Insert a toothpick into each half apple slice. Coat the apple with the melted Déco Melts, then place it on baking paper. Immediately sprinkle with pastel nonpareils.
Do the same with a second slice and assemble it with the first to form a butterfly, then remove the toothpicks.
Place two chocolate dragees to create the butterfly's body.
If the Déco Melts have already set, attach the dragees using a pastel pink chocolate flavoured pen. Simply dip it in a jug of hot water for about 5 minutes before using it.
To create the antennae, cut a Mikado to the length you desire. Then attach the antennae to the butterfly. If needed, use a chocolate flavoured pen to help.
And there you have beautiful butterflies! :-)
