There are 30 products.
With a velvet spray with snow effect, you can give Yule logs, entremets and desserts a beautiful velvety finish in an instant, like freshly fallen snow. Discover our whole range of food-safe velvet sprays from Silikomart, Decora and Funcakes. They are easy to use, but there are a few steps to follow so you don't get stuck. Then decorating with a spray is a safe bet, believe us. We have several colour ranges, and white is of course well represented. Green and black, but above all pink and red, are very popular.

Our Christmas recipes coloured and decorated with velvet spray
The links below lead to the French versions; all recipes are also available in German, but not in English, sorry.
- Red Christmas log with strawberry and lemon flavours, made with the Silikomart "Log" mould 25 cm and a textured mat, flocked in red.
- Iced white log with tropical flavours, made with the Pavoni "Comet" mould, flocked in white.
- Our favourite, the Santa Claus log with four chocolates, made with the Mr. Pillow mould from Silikomart. It is also flocked with red velvet effect, and some amazing marzipan decorations take it to the next level. So cool!
Important before use
Food sprays are stored at different temperatures. To make sure the contents come out perfectly, you should:
- Soak the bottle in warm water (25 to 35 °C) for about 10 minutes.
- Shake the bottle vigorously for 30 seconds.
- It is ready to use.

How to get the perfect velvet effect
- Freeze the dessert: the velvet effect appears when warm cocoa butter hits a very cold surface, so the dessert should come straight from the freezer.
- Keep your distance: spray an even layer from 20 to 25 cm away.
- Work in passes: spray with smooth, regular movements and apply several thin layers rather than one thick one.
- After spraying: let the dessert thaw in the fridge before decorating it further.
Protect before using
We advise you to protect the area where you will use the spray. Coloured cocoa butter is really not fun to clean. Some customers actually put their cake in the dishwasher to flock it. Our advice is to place your cake in a tall cardboard cake box, which you can reuse several times. The easiest way is to place your frozen entremets on a turntable. This way you can keep the ideal distance between spray and cake for an even result everywhere, and you simply turn the tray to decorate all sides.
Use your velvet spray to decorate plates
When used with a stencil, you can create impressive plate designs in a very short time. Just like with entremets, the velvet or snow effect will be much better if you put the plate in the fridge or, even better, in the freezer before decorating. If you have coloured plates, we recommend white, it looks really classy. Spray an even layer onto the cold surface from a distance of 20 to 25 cm.
Several spray sizes: how to choose
Count on 100 ml to cover two cakes of 20 cm diameter and 4 cm height, or two standard-size logs. However, be careful: when the spray is empty, it stops quite suddenly. Surprise effect guaranteed! For large desserts or several logs, it is worth buying an extra can or choosing the 150 ml sprays. Pick the colour to suit the dessert: white for snow and ice, red for classic Christmas logs, brown or milk chocolate for chocolate desserts.
Frequently asked questions about velvet spray
Why is my finish smooth instead of velvety?
Usually the dessert is not cold enough. It should be frozen so the cocoa butter sets instantly and forms the typical texture.
Can I use velvet spray on buttercream?
Yes, if the cake is well chilled or partly frozen. The effect looks best on mousse desserts straight from the freezer.
How much spray do I need?
Allow 100 ml for two cakes of 20 cm diameter and 4 cm height, or two standard Yule logs.
How do I store an opened spray?
Cool, dry and upright. Before the next use, place it in warm water again and shake well.
