Tips for realistic sugar flowers
- With the Silikomart petunia and daisy sets, roll the paste out very thinly, cut out the flower and only then place it in the veiner lightly dusted with cornflour, so the veins come out especially fine.
- With the Blossom Sugar Art sets the order is reversed: roll fondant to about 3 mm, emboss it (between the two parts of the veiner for hydrangea, petunia and butterfly, pressed onto the veiner for the frangipani set), then cut it out with the matching cutter.
- After veining, gently shape the petals and leave them to dry in a hollow, a flower former or on a baguette tray.
- For the rose embosser, roll the paste to about 3 mm for cupcakes and 4 to 5 mm for cakes. You can emboss before covering or directly on the covered cake.

How do I colour veined hydrangea and petunia flowers?
With powder colour, applied dry or mixed with a little alcohol to make a liquid paint. Alternatively, work with coloured fondant from the start.
Is the butterfly veiner and cutter set dishwasher-safe?
The silicone veiner in this set is dishwasher-safe, while the cutter should be washed by hand in warm water with a little soap.
