These round, food-safe cardboard cake shims bring stability to every step of the cake-making process. The white-coated side is greaseproof, the reverse side is made of normal cardboard; the thickness of approx. 0.8 mm ensures a reliable hold for single use. The set contains ten 20 cm diameter slices, which can also be cut to size if required. What are they suitable for? In combination with a cake ring, they serve as an invisible base that you can use to safely lift the cake with a spatula to prevent the cream or sponge from breaking. How is it used? As a guide, the slice should be around 2 cm smaller than the cake - 20 cm is suitable for 22 cm cakes, for example. This also makes it easier to spread the edges neatly and to add sprinkles, brittle or chocolate flakes. These cake slices are thicker than many others and make the work noticeably easier. Lift the cake slightly with the spatula, place it in your hand and press decorations onto the edge from bottom to top; then set the cake back down with the spatula. Reuse is not recommended as the slices cannot be cleaned. Using cake slices allows you to work efficiently and in a controlled manner around the edge of the cake and when repositioning.
