Satin cake ribbon, yellow

The elegantly shimmering satin ribbon creates a clean border between the cake and the cake plate and conceals small irregularities at the bottom edge. It is ideal for cakes covered with marzipan or rolled fondant and for cakes with a sponge edge. It can also be used to embellish a cake board, the top edge or the surface of the cake. The yellow cake ribbon adds a subtle touch of color and gives your creations a stylish finish. To use, cover the cake completely by rolling out a thin layer of marzipan or rolled fondant, brush the cake with a little warmed apricot jam, place the cover on top and smooth with a fondant smoother. Cut off the overhanging edge cleanly at the bottom. Then attach the ribbon to the bottom edge with very little edible glue, making sure that it does not curl. Optionally, you can tie a bow or stick the ribbon on smoothly with a slight overlap. Place a suitably cut cake insert strip underneath beforehand so that there is no direct contact with the cake and you can reuse the cake ribbon afterwards.
