Pioneer of organic herb cultivation – since 1991

At Cakelicious, we stock the Raselli Erboristeria Biologica range – a farm based in Le Prese in the Valposchiavo, southern Graubünden, regarded as a pioneer of organic herb cultivation. The sunny valley in the south of Graubünden captivates with natural beauty and landscape diversity: the unique terrain spans from the high-alpine ice and snow region of the Bernina massif to the vineyards and orchards of the Valtellina. Thanks to its climatic conditions, the Valposchiavo is almost predestined for the cultivation of herbs and flowers. Since 1991 the farm has cultivated its fields according to organic guidelines – and since 1993 it has officially carried the Bio «Bud» label.

From field to package – gentle drying and handcraft

What particularly distinguishes Raselli Erboristeria is the consistent quality throughout the entire production chain. Immediately after harvesting the herbs are gently dried – at a maximum of 40°C, so that the cells close slowly and the active substances are preserved in the plant. After drying, the herbs are further processed and blended according to recipe. The herbs are packaged directly at the Erboristeria, which guarantees long shelf life and preserves the aroma of the products. Alongside mechanised production, all products continue to be hand-sorted, processed and packaged in small quantities – a quality promise you can taste.

Tradition and continuity – a family farm in good hands

In 2019 Fabrizio Raselli, the founder’s nephew, took over the agricultural part of the farm – thus continuing the tradition that has always placed quality and naturalness at the centre. With around 10 employees and an annual production of 30 to 40 tonnes of herbs, Raselli Erboristeria remains a manageable, carefully run family farm whose products make the unique terroir of the Valposchiavo tangible.
