A flower arrangement on a cake needs a stable base and hygienic holders. In the flower holders, picks and polystyrene category you will find polystyrene flower cones in small in a pack of 6, medium in a pack of 3 and large with stem in a pack of 3, plus polystyrene balls Ø 5 cm in a pack of 10 and Ø 7 cm in a pack of 5. Sugar flowers can be pushed onto the cones and balls while modelling, left to dry and arranged into bouquets. You can also cover the cones with fondant, marzipan or flower paste or coat them in chocolate and then attach petals. Flower picks and the large flower holders in a set of 6 reliably keep wires and stems away from the cake. Polystyrene, wire and holders are not edible: remove the arrangement from the cake before cutting.
Tips for arranging
- Trial arrangement: first push the flowers into a polystyrene ball as a test to find the best arrangement before decorating the cake.
- Securing wires: fill flower picks with a little fondant so the wires sit firmly.
- Roses on a cone: for large roses, fix a flower cone onto a wire and attach the individual petals all around it.
- Fresh flowers: the large flower holders also take the stems of fresh flowers and so prevent contact with the cake.

The flower picks are 5.5 cm long, about 5 mm in diameter and come in a pack of 12. The large flower holders are 7 cm long and 1.4 cm in diameter.
Can the polystyrene balls be used for display pieces?
Yes. Covered with fondant, marzipan, flower paste, buttercream or ganache, they become round display pieces for the shop window, an element of a large cake or an eye-catcher on the dessert buffet. They are also handy for crafts with children or for a ball of dried flowers.
