Wafer paper – also known as rice paper – and icing sheets are neutral in taste and are suitable for printing, painting and punching as well as for making sweet borders, collages or delicate flowers. In our range you will find A4 wafer paper at 0.3 mm in packs of 100 and at 0.6 mm, A5 wafer paper (18 x 14 cm), white and coloured wafer paper, edible A4 wafer sheets in packs of 25 and wafer paper sheets in packs of 10. For brilliant photo prints there are icing sheets in packs of 25, and for nougat and confectionery ridged wafer sheets.

Tips for wafer paper and icing sheets

  • Protect your toppers: for toppers on cream cakes or other moist surfaces that will not be eaten straight away, spray them with edible lacquer or brush them with a thin layer of chocolate. This delays softening.
  • Choose the right thickness: thin 0.3 mm wafer paper punches well and can be shaped into flowers, while 0.6 mm stays sturdier as a cake topper.
  • Store dry: keep the sheets flat, airtight and dry so they do not curl.
  • Place on a dry surface: icing sheets hold best on fondant or buttercream and should be added shortly before serving.

FAQ about wafer paper and icing sheets

What is the difference between wafer paper and icing sheets?

Wafer paper is light and fairly stiff, ideal for punching and shaping. An icing sheet is a thin layer of sugar that blends into the surface and reproduces colours especially vividly.

What are ridged wafer sheets for?

The ridged wafer sheets are made especially for nougat: spread the mixture between two sheets and cut it into pieces once it has set.
