Go on safari in your own kitchen: with our zoo and jungle animal cookie cutters you can bake biscuits shaped like an elephant, giraffe, zebra, lion, hippo, monkey, meerkat, kangaroo, crocodile and chameleon. Add to that the llama and alpaca from the Andes and the flamingo, which also comes as a set with a palm tree. The elephant appears in several versions – classic, with plunger and embossing, or as a geo elephant with geometric edges. The largest designs, such as the kangaroo and the giraffe, measure 11 cm and steal the show on any biscuit plate. Cutters with a plunger emboss the outlines at the same time, while the stainless steel shapes cut clean silhouettes in dough, fondant and marzipan.
Ideas for safari and jungle biscuits
- Safari birthday party: cut out lions, giraffes and zebras and decorate them with royal icing in sandy yellow, brown and black and white. Arranged on a board sprinkled with desiccated coconut as the savannah, they become an edible zoo.
- Mix the sizes: the meerkat comes in 6 and 10 cm, perfect for a little meerkat family. The 11 cm kangaroo and giraffe also make a striking contrast next to smaller animals such as the 6 cm monkey.
- Tropical decorations: flamingo and palm tree in pink and green are ideal for summer parties and pool parties, and they also work as fondant toppers on cupcakes.
- Reptiles for adventurers: crocodile, alligator, lizard and chameleon in bright green delight little explorers; with colourful sugar pearls the chameleon changes its colours.
Frequently asked questions about zoo and jungle animal cookie cutters
How do I cut long necks and trunks neatly?
Roll the dough out evenly, flour the cutter and use a palette knife to lift biscuits with thin parts, such as the giraffe’s neck or the elephant’s trunk, onto the tray. Well chilled before baking, these delicate areas are less likely to break.
What is the difference between a llama and an alpaca?
In nature the llama is larger with long, curved ears, while the alpaca is smaller with short ears and a denser fleece. We stock both designs, and together they are perfect for an Andes-themed party.
