This stretchy, colorfast ribbon with a waxed, water-repellent surface is ideal for arranging blossoms, leaves and flowers made from flower paste and fondant on wire. Originally used in florists' stores for tying flower arrangements, it also helps in cake decorating to conceal wires and position individual elements precisely. What is it suitable for? For tying together flowers and leaves strung on wire and for neatly lining the connections so that your sugar flowers look professional. How is it used? Shape petals from flower paste, pull them onto floral wire and leave to dry; for a natural effect, sizes and edges may vary slightly and can be accentuated with powder colors or mica. Assemble the flower from the individual parts, arrange and attach the wires, optionally on a flower cone as a stable base. Use white florist tape to conceal the wire and bundle several flowers or green leaves into a branch or arrangement. Choose the right color depending on the desired look - light or dark green for stems, brown for branches - and wrap the ribbon slightly stretched, tightly and overlapping around the wire. At the top of the flower, the wire is completely wrapped; after tightening, the ribbon can simply be cut off and holds itself in place. The white florist ribbon is always stretched and gently pressed on when working so that everything stays in place and your finished floral arrangements and fondant creations decorate cakes in style.
