Tips for wedding and love cakes
- White royal icing on pastel sugar paste looks like delicate lace and suits almost any wedding style.
- Use the rows of hearts and ornate hearts to decorate all around the sides of a tiered cake; the Just Married stencil also works for designs that run around the cake.
- For multicoloured designs, divide the royal icing, tint each portion with food colouring and apply the shades one after another.
- For soft colour gradients, spray a little colour in several shades with the airbrush and clean the stencil after each use.
Frequently asked questions about wedding stencils
On which surface does the Mr & Mrs lettering turn out cleanest?
Place the stencil on a smooth, not too soft surface such as a covered cake or sugar paste. Spread royal icing or chocolate thinly over it with a small angled spatula until no gaps remain, scrape off the excess and lift the stencil carefully.
Which designs are in the Love Birds & Chandelier set?
The 3-piece set contains a pair of birds, a decorative birdcage and a chandelier, ideal for weddings and engagements. For a quick version, dust icing sugar over it; for milk foam or a dessert plate, use cocoa powder.
