Which cake board for which cake?
The range is organised by shape and use, so you can go straight to the right base:

Size guide: cake diameter and cake board
As a rule of thumb, choose a cake board about 4 to 5 cm larger than the diameter of your cake. This leaves a visible border that frames the cake nicely, and you can hold the board without touching the buttercream or fondant. If you decorate the edge with fruit or macarons, the board can be a little larger. The table shows our recommendation for round cakes; many sizes are available both as thin boards and as thick cake drums.

Tiered cakes: place each tier on a thin cake board of exactly the same size as the tier, for example Ø 15, 20 and 25 cm. The wooden boards with a hole are ideal, as you can run a central dowel through them. At the bottom, use a thick cake drum that is 5 to 8 cm larger than the bottom tier. For a bottom tier of Ø 25 cm, choose a cake drum of Ø 30 to 33 cm.
Rectangular cakes: for traybakes, chequerboard cakes and number cakes there are rectangular cake boards in 20 x 30, 25 x 35, 30 x 40, 35 x 45 and 37 x 50 cm. For a two-digit number cake, a large board from 30 x 40 cm upwards works best; matching boxes can be found in Number cake boxes.
Which thickness? Cake circle, thin board or cake drum

Frequently asked questions about cake boards
How big should my cake board be?
Choose a board about 4 to 5 cm larger than the cake. For a cake of Ø 26 cm, a board of Ø 30 or 30.5 cm is a good fit; for a cake of Ø 20 cm, a board of Ø 25 cm.
What is the difference between a cake board and a cake drum?
A cake board is a thin board of 2 to 4 mm. A cake drum is 12 mm thick, very sturdy and ideal for heavy cakes, fondant cakes and as the base of a tiered cake.
Which cake board fits in a 30 x 30 cm cake box?
A 30 x 30 cm box takes a round board up to Ø 30 cm or a square board up to 30 x 30 cm. For a 25 x 25 cm box, choose a board up to Ø 25 cm.
