First put a small dot of buttercream or egg white icing on the nail and attach a piece of wax paper or baking paper to it. This makes it easy to lift the flowers off the 4 cm rose nail after icing and set them aside to dry. Without wax paper, use a flower lifter to transfer the dressed flowers. The nail can be used with flower nozzles or classic rose tip nozzles. When working with the rose tip nozzle, start in the middle with the wider end of the nozzle touching the nail. Turn the nail completely once while evenly coating and then spray the outer leaves layer by layer. For a natural-looking result, apply the petals slightly overlapping. To change the piping nozzle or color, insert the tip of the rose nail into a piece of polystyrene. Place the finished royal icing roses on a tray or other flat surface to dry.
