Tips for boards and cases
- The right size: choose a cake board 2 to 5 cm larger than the cake to leave room for decorations and let the gold edge show.
- Keep the shine: according to the manufacturer, the metallic cases keep their shape and colour during baking, so your cupcakes still gleam gold when they come out of the oven.
- Fill them correctly: the PME metallic cases are heat-resistant up to 220 °C. Fill cupcake batter up to the rim and muffin batter slightly below.

Which gold cases suit mini cupcakes, cupcakes and mini cakes?
Mini cupcake cases measure around 3.5 cm across, cupcake cases 5 cm with a height of 3 to 4 cm, and the mini cake paper cases about 8 x 5 x 3.2 cm, matching the mini cake tin. The 48 gold paper baking cases made of card are the exception: they stand up on their own but do not fit classic cupcake tins, while the other cases are best baked in a cupcake or mini muffin tin.
Can gold cake boards be reused?
Yes, the 1.2 cm thick boards can be used again and again if you look after them. To keep the gold surface looking good, avoid cutting the cake directly on the board.
