Fill the piping bag about half full with cream, buttercream, egg white icing, chocolate or ganache, twist it in at the top and guide the bag with one hand while the other holds the bag closed and squeezes. If necessary, cut off the tip, insert the adapter inner part and enlarge the hole so that the inner part sticks out at the front without falling out. Fold it over at the edge and place it in a piping bag holder or a liter jar to fill the mixture easily. Then screw on the desired nozzle using the attachment, push the mixture down and start piping: Use the star ribbon nozzle to create a basket weave around the edge of the cake, the star or ruffle nozzle to create small rosettes and ruffles, and the dots to add decorative flourishes.
