Sombo

Som-Bo – Sommer and Bomben: the story behind the name

At Cakelicious, we stock the Sombo AG range – a well-known Swiss trading company headquartered in the canton of Aargau. The name is an acronym made up of the founders’ names: ‘Som’ for founder Hans Sommer, ‘Bo’ for Bomben (crackers) – because it all began in 1974 with the production of table crackers. Over time, the import of toys, carnival articles, party supplies and fireworks was added. Today Sombo AG is one of the leading importers and wholesalers in the retail trade for toys, party and seasonal products.

Exclusive brand distributor for Switzerland

Many well-known manufacturers rely on Sombo AG as their exclusive brand distributor for Switzerland. As one of the leading importers of toys and seasonal products, Sombo places great importance on high-quality and impeccable products that meet European and in particular Swiss requirements. The range includes toys, party supplies, carnival articles and seasonal products – always with the highest quality standards.

Fair production conditions as a company value

Fair conditions for employees in toy production are a major concern for Sombo AG. For this reason, the company seeks long-standing partnerships on equal terms with its suppliers. Various international standards have been established to ensure fair production conditions in the respective countries of production – Sombo consistently relies on these standards.
