From two founders in a VW Golf to an international manufacturer
At Cakelicious, we stock the Folat range – an international wholesaler and supplier of party products that develops, produces and sells party accessories – with genuine passion. The story begins with a graduation project: Marc Mulckhuyse and Alex Adrichem recommended that a foil balloon importer rethink his business strategy – and received payment in the form of those very balloons. The next day they filled them with helium at the Rotterdam Marathon, sold them within a few hours and doubled the value of the merchandise. What followed was logical: Marc and Alex noticed that foil balloons were only sold on the street – and saw the enormous potential of offering them in retail.
Passion, team spirit and a motto for life
From two young entrepreneurs in a VW Golf grew an international company with a team of 90 employees. What has not changed is the drive: the passion for party products, the tireless urge to keep improving and an ever-positive team spirit. Folat aspires to become the European market leader in developing innovative and sustainable party products. The motto behind it all is as simple as it is compelling: we put a smile on your face.
Innovation and sustainability – celebrating responsibly
Folat develops, produces and sells party products – always mindful of its impact on the planet. The goal: to exceed people’s expectations while becoming more sustainable at the same time. We are only just getting started – and that is exactly the spirit with which Folat looks towards the future.
