A video game birthday party is a hit with gamers young and old: controllers, pixels and the classic Level up slogan turn the party into a game night. Typical colours are black, neon green and silver. In this category you will find gaming tableware, controller candles, cake toppers, fondant and sprinkles so the cake, cupcakes and table match the theme.
Creating a gamer cake and cupcakes
For a gaming cake, cover it in black fondant and add green and grey accents. Raven Black, Spring Green and Stone Grey fondant are popular choices; more colours in Fondant and gum paste. Design ideas:
- A fondant controller or a pixel pattern made from small squares
- Black drip over green buttercream, more in Drip icing
- Transparent edible jelly diamonds as in-game gems
- Green sprinkles, green glitter sugar, silver sugar pearls and the Black Medley sprinkle mix
- The Minecraft cake decoration for fans of the block world
As a base, silver cake boards work well, round from 18 to 40 cm or square, or a black cake board. More designs in Round cake boards. For cupcakes, use black cases, also in mini size, with a swirl of green buttercream and a small fondant controller. The silver sugar pen or the black and green chocolate-flavoured pens are handy for writing on cakes and biscuits.
Candles, toppers and table decoration
For the big blow-out, choose the controller candles and the controller and PC set, together with black glitter candles. For toppers, there is the Game on topper, the video game cake toppers or a black or silver Happy Birthday topper. More designs in Happy Birthday topper.
Cover the table with a black paper or plastic tablecloth, controller paper plates and cups and black paper straws. The Level up Birthday garland decorates the wall. For fans of a particular game, Super Mario birthday party offers matching plates, garland and tablecloth. Silver or black balloons complete the decoration.
