To get your balloon decorations ready in time, you need the right tools. In this category you will find a handy hand pump, an electric balloon pump for larger quantities and two helium cylinders that make latex and foil balloons float. Ideal for kids' parties, weddings and corporate events. Air-filled balloons last much longer than helium ones and are perfect for wall decorations, balloon arches and garlands.
The hand pump is about 30 cm long: put the balloon on the nozzle, pump a few times and you are done. The electric pump runs on the standard 230-volt mains and offers continuous and touch operation. Depending on balloon size, each of the two helium cylinders fills about 20 balloons with a 23 cm diameter, 14 balloons of 35 cm or 2 foil balloons of 86 cm.
Tips for pumps and helium cylinders
- For arches and garlands with lots of balloons, an electric pump saves plenty of time and breath. Do not run it for more than two hours at a time, never cover the nozzle and do not use it in damp rooms.
- You only need helium for floating balloons. Inflate latex balloons shortly before the party, as they lose the gas much faster than foil balloons. A tip from the helium cylinder product descriptions: double up latex balloons, i.e. inflate one balloon inside another, and they will float for longer.
- Never inhale helium, store the cylinder upright in a cool, well-ventilated place away from sunlight and close the valve after use.
Questions about balloon pumps and helium
Can the helium cylinder be refilled?
The model «Helium tank» is explicitly a disposable cylinder and must not be refilled. Work out the amount you need in advance based on balloon size, so the helium lasts for the whole decoration.
How do I fill a balloon with the helium cylinder?
With the model «Helium tank», first open the main tap. Gas only flows when you press the balloon against the nozzle. Do not overfill it, tie it securely and close the main valve again after filling.
