This allows you to cut sponge bases straight and at an even height - ideal for multi-tiered cakes. The cake base cutting aid is placed as an adjustable ring over the completely cooled cake and tightened. How is it used? If you are baking an airy sponge or a moist cake, leave it to rest for a day - preferably in the cake ring, covered with a second tray. Then carefully remove the cake from the ring with a knife without serrations and place it on a perfectly flat work surface. Open the cutting aid ring as far as possible, put it on, tighten it and cut the layers with a long serrated knife, such as a bread or pastry knife. For very thin slices, cut at each gap; for sturdy bases or a sponge cake that is easy to soak, leave out one or two openings. The cut slices can be layered with cream and ganache, soaked or frozen. What is the tool suitable for? With the cake base cutting aid, you can determine the desired height yourself and repeatedly obtain layers of the same thickness; afterwards, it simply goes into the dishwasher for cleaning.
