Silicone border mat Art Nouveau - for edible lace borders Decorate cakes and pastries with the finest, attachable borders in elegant Art Nouveau style. What is this mat suitable for? For even, delicate borders that fit together seamlessly and easily cover large circumferences. The silicone mat forms two borders that can be placed directly next to each other; the curved ornaments make bright, glossy color pastes look particularly good. How is it used? Spread a suitable lace decorating paste (e.g. Cake Lace) evenly over the mat and smooth it out with a metal horn or angled spatula; return any excess to the cup. Then place the entire mat in the oven for 15 minutes at 80-100 degrees. If the solid mass does not come away from the edge, dry for a further 3-5 minutes. Once everything is completely dry, carefully peel off the borders and insert immediately as desired. The patterns remain soft and flexible for a long time, can be made a few days in advance and stored in airtight packaging for up to two months. To attach the decorations, place them on cake surfaces or stick them to the edges; a little food glue helps on fondant or chocolate. If royal icing, mirror glaze or chocolate is still soft, lightly pressing down is sufficient. Surfaces with a high moisture content, such as whipped cream, are not suitable. For special effects, you can subtly color the borders with an airbrush. Use the silicone border mat to create precise, intricate decorations.
