What is this practical tool suitable for? For baking even bases, neatly layering fillings and safe shaping. To bake, simply place the cake ring on a tray with baking paper that is as straight as possible; a perforated tray is ideal so that the heat reaches the sponge cake evenly. Pour in the sponge, but not too high, as it will rise during baking. How is the ring used? After baking, leave the sponge cake to cool well; if it is not to be used until the next day, cover it with a second tray so that it retains its moisture. Carefully loosen the edge with a knife and cut even slices, for example with a cake cutter or a cake saw. You can line the cleaned ring with a strip of cake liner. For layering, do not use the final cake plate, but thin cake bases; a small cardboard base (1-2 cm smaller than the cake) on a slightly larger base is proven to make the cake easier to move. Insert a slice of sponge cake or make a crispy base and add the desired filling on top. Even thick components such as caramel or cake jelly stay safely inside thanks to the ring. Place the cake with the ring in the fridge or freezer; once it is firm, the insert strip can be peeled off and the ring easily removed.
