This cake ring helps you bake, chill and freeze cakes and airy sponge cakes. The ring can be used in the oven, fridge and freezer and is easy to clean in the dishwasher afterwards. How is it used? Place the ring on a baking tray with baking paper that is as level as possible; if there is enough space, several sponge cakes can be baked next to each other. Fill the ring with sponge cake batter, but not too high, as the batter will rise. As the ring has no base, the heat reaches the dough better, and it is particularly even on a perforated tray. Leave the sponge cake to cool well; if you want it to rest until the next day, cover it with a second tray. Loosen the edge with a knife and cut even slices, ideally with a cake cutter or cake saw. What is it suitable for? For layering cakes, use a cake insert strip on the cleaned ring. Do not work on the final cake plate, but on a smaller cardboard base (1-2 cm smaller) and a slightly larger base underneath in order to transfer the cake securely. Insert a slice of sponge cake or a crispy base and place the filling on top; even thick ingredients such as caramel or cake jelly will stay safely inside thanks to the ring. Place the cake with the ring in the fridge or freezer and remove it easily once it has set.
