The cake ring Ø is particularly suitable for baking sponge bases and building compact cakes. What is it ideal for? For round creations where the heat reaches the dough optimally thanks to the lack of a base; a perforated plate enhances this effect. How is the ring used? Place it on a straight baking tray lined with baking paper; if there is enough space, several sponge cakes can be baked next to each other. Do not fill the dough too high, as it will rise in the oven, and leave the sponge cake to cool well after baking. If the base is not to be used until the next day, cover it with a second tray to retain the moisture. Carefully loosen the edge with a knife and cut the base into even slices using a cake cutter or a cake saw. For layering, line the cleaned ring with a cake insert strip and do not work on the final cake plate: use a small cardboard base that is 1-2 cm smaller than the cake and place a slightly larger base underneath to make it easier to transfer the cake later. Insert a slice of sponge cake or make a crispy base. Add the desired filling; even thick ingredients such as caramel or cake jelly will stay safely inside thanks to the ring. The cake is placed in the fridge or freezer to set; the insert strip makes it easier to remove. The cake ring is dishwasher-safe and can be used again immediately.
