The cake ring is dishwasher-safe and therefore quickly ready for use again. How is it used? Place the ring on a baking tray with baking paper that is as level as possible. If there is enough space, you can bake several sponge cakes next to each other. Prepare a sponge cake batter and fill the ring, but not too high, as the batter will rise. As it does not have a base like a springform pan, the heat reaches the dough particularly well. You will achieve the most even results with a perforated tray. What is it suitable for? After baking, leave the sponge cake to cool completely. For use the next day, cover it with a second tray to retain the moisture. Carefully remove the sponge cake from the ring with a knife and cut it into even slices using a cake cutter or a cake saw. For layering, line the cleaned ring with a cake liner strip. Do not use the final cake plate, but a small cardboard base that is 1-2 cm smaller and a slightly larger cake base underneath for easy lifting. Insert a slice of sponge cake or prepare a fine crispy base. Viscous fillings such as caramel or cake jelly for fresh fruit also stay securely in the ring. Place the cake in the fridge or freezer to set. The insert strip makes it easy to remove and reuse afterwards. This means you can use the cake ring reliably every step of the way, from baking to shaping.
