The long filling nozzle with a 5 mm opening is specially designed for filling pastries. The elongated shaft penetrates deep into Berliners, doughnuts, éclairs and cream puffs and distributes the mixture evenly inside without having to break open the pastry. The spout is suitable for Berliners, doughnuts, donuts, éclairs, cream puffs, choux pastry creations and filled rolls. Suitable fillings include jam, vanilla and chocolate cream, custard, pudding, buttercream, ganache and sweetened cream. To use, cut off the tip of the disposable piping bag so that the front part of the nozzle sticks out but the nozzle does not slip through. You can work more elegantly with a nozzle adapter: insert the inner part into the piping bag, screw on the nozzle from the outside so that the nozzle can be changed even when the bag is full. Twist the bag in just behind the nozzle and push it gently into the opening to prevent the mixture from running out the front when filling. For clean filling, place the bag turned upside down in a piping bag holder or a tall measuring cup. For filling, pierce an inconspicuous area of the pastry, preferably on the side or underside. Insert the nozzle slowly, then press gently and pull the nozzle back slightly when filling to distribute the mixture evenly. Stop as soon as you feel slight resistance, too much filling will cause the pastry to burst. The mixture should have a smooth consistency. Thick custard and firm buttercream require more pressure, but are less sensitive to slight irregularities. Jam works best if it has first been passed through a sieve or finely blended with a hand blender. Rinse the spout with hot water immediately after use before any residue can dry. Specially shaped conical spout brushes are available for the edges and inner areas. The spout is made of stainless steel and is dishwasher-safe. The long shaft is particularly easy to clean with a conical spout brush.
