The plastic bowl with a capacity of 1 liter is part of the basic equipment in every bakery and kitchen. It supports the preparation, mixing, kneading, proofing and storage of a wide variety of mixtures. The medium size is versatile and is suitable for smaller mixing tasks, heating medium-sized quantities in the microwave or proofing smaller yeast doughs. The food-safe plastic (PE) material is robust, unbreakable and can withstand both hot and icy contents without damage. Caramel straight from the pan can be poured in, as can chilled ingredients from the freezer. The plastic bowl can be used in the microwave, unlike metal or stainless steel bowls. For gentle heating of chocolate, ganache or butter, a low power setting with regular stirring is recommended. For proofing bread and yeast doughs, a lightly oiled plastic wall sticks less and the dough can be removed cleanly after rising. A note on beating egg whites: The bowl must be completely free of grease, otherwise the egg whites will not stiffen.
