Cut the dough into large pieces and roll out on a rolling mat or floured work surface to a thickness of 3-5 mm. Cut out the wall with the tip twice, the square chimney piece twice, the wall with the door once and the large rectangle three times. Use the small rectangle to cut windows out of two walls, use the slightly larger cutter for a rounded window. Roll out the remaining dough to a thickness of 5 mm and cut a rectangle as a base plate. Bake the pieces according to the recipe and brush with gum arabic while still warm. Prepare an egg white icing or mix a royal icing mix with water, preferably colored for fir trees or other details. Fill the white icing into a piping bag with a perforated nozzle and decorate the walls, preferably before assembling. Prepare the base plate and stick the walls to it and to each other. Using enough royal icing, assemble the roof and chimney and allow each step to dry thoroughly; if necessary, use a glass or measuring cup as a support. Once the house is finished, the rest of the decorations can be added: stick on small sweets such as gummy bears, Smarties or sugar pearls, or decorate the roof with almonds as bricks.
