Thanks to the excellent heat retention of cast iron, the heat is distributed evenly and ensures optimum results - whether for rösti, meat, fish or baked desserts. Cast iron is a robust, durable material with a high carbon content, which is particularly suitable for even cooking. Although it takes a little longer to heat up, it stores the heat particularly efficiently and releases it constantly. With the right care, it also develops a natural non-stick coating that makes cooking and baking easier. Seasoning for optimum results: The pan should be baked on before first use. To do this, pour heat-resistant oil (e.g. sunflower or rapeseed oil) into the pan so that the base is thinly coated. Spread the potato peelings on top and sprinkle with a little salt. Place the pan in the oven at approx. 150 °C for about 45 minutes. Then leave it to cool completely, remove the residue and pat the pan dry. This creates a protective patina. Care instructions: Clean the pan after use with warm water, a little washing-up liquid and a soft sponge. Avoid the dishwasher and prolonged soaking, as cast iron is susceptible to rust. Dry the pan thoroughly immediately after washing. The protective layer can be renewed if necessary by repeating the baking process.
