Sturdy, round base made of food-safe cardboard with silver, tear-resistant aluminum foil, ideal as a secure base for small cakes, cupcakes or as a tiered base. What is the plate suitable for? It serves as a hygienic, dimensionally stable carrying and presentation surface; the foil prevents the surface from soaking and keeps your creation looking fresh for a long time. Thanks to the embossed, subtle pattern, it goes with any design or can be covered with fondant if desired. How to use it? Roll out the fondant to a thickness of approx. 2-3 mm with a little baking starch, place it over the plate, smooth it out with the fondant smoother and cut off the edge cleanly. For a non-slip hold, put some buttercream, ganache or jam in the middle and place the cake in the middle. When stacking multi-tiered cakes, 3-4 cake sticks per tier help to ensure stability. The cake plate is a practical choice if you plan the right size from the outset. As a rule of thumb, we recommend leaving approx. 2 cm of free space all round; this allows the cake to be carried safely and the edge can be decorated with flowers, buttercream or fondant. For hygiene reasons, the base should not be reused.
