What is it suitable for? For carrying, transporting and presenting heavy cakes, whether for birthdays, anniversaries or weddings. How is it used? Place a small dab of buttercream, ganache or jam in the center to hold the cake in place; for layering, it is best to use a slightly smaller intermediate base and 3-4 cake sticks per tier. For a uniform look, cover the plate with a wafer-thin layer of fondant (2-3 mm) if required, roll out with baking starch and smooth with a fondant smoother.
