With metallic colours you can give cakes, cupcakes and sugar decorations an elegant shine – whether as a fine gold rim, glossy drips or shimmering sugar flowers. In our range you will find metallic and shimmer powders as well as ready-to-use liquid metallic colours.
Metallic and shimmer powders
The metallic powder colours come in gold, dark gold, silver, bronze, copper, rose gold, pink, red and ruby red, as well as a silver-white glimmer for a pearlescent sheen. Small 2.5 g or 3 g pots are ideal for individual projects, while the larger 25 g packs suit frequent use.
You can use the powders in two ways:
- Dusting dry: apply with a soft brush to sugarpaste, sugar flowers or chocolate for a subtle shimmer.
- Mixing and painting: mix with a few drops of food-grade alcohol or Rejuvenator Spirit to form a paint and apply with a fine brush for an intense metallic finish.
Liquid metallic colours
Even easier are the liquid metallic colours from Rainbow Dust in gold, ruby red and black, plus the metallic gold food colour in an 8 g pot. They are ready to use and particularly suited to lettering, details and highlights. Shake or stir the colour well before use.
