Bourbon vanilla pods are supple, black*, fleshy, shiny, fragrant, unsplit, soft to the touch.
They thus release much more flavours than dry vanilla, which is generally marketed.
The "GOURMET" size corresponds to a pod length of between 14 and 17 cm.
* The high-end vanilla, represents 5% of the production of the best years. Not to be confused with the vanilla "TK" of inferior quality and resembling the black but recognizable thanks to its light lines or reddish spots.
